Lashes: Some of the most commonly asked questions I get are about lashes! Over the years, I have found the best method for me + today’s blog post is going to teach you all the lash things that have helped me! With each step in my routine, I will share the products that I swear by!
Step 1: Nightly ‘Swipe’
One of the easiest ways to grow your lashes is committing to add ONE STEP into your nightly routine. It takes two seconds, but makes THE BIGGEST difference. I have tried many different nightly serums in my years and I can confidently say that I have had the very best results with this serum. After removing my makeup and washing my face, I apply one swipe of this serum on each top eyelash line each night and…. TA DA! Over about a month, I noticed a difference. I have continued to use it for about a year now. All it takes is commitment to using the product consistently and discipline to remember using it!
Step 2: Prime
Let’s talk primers! I have worn this primer for about a year and I swear by it! If you aren’t already wearing this primer or you had a bad experience with a different primer, STOP WHAT YOU’RE DOING and order one! It’s not like any other primer (trust me, I learned the hard way)! You’ll thank me later! This primer conditions your lashes and make them thicker and longer. How to apply: Make sure you allow enough time for your primer to dry before you apply your mascara. Once you have practiced a few times using the primer, you may become more confident applying mascara on partially dry or tacky primer.
Step 3: Mascara
Finding the perfect mascara is like shuffling through clothing racks at TJ MAXX.. anyone else agree? I use this mascara and I’m here for it! I have used it for a while now and nothing compares to it! The brush is firm (but not too firm), large (but not too large), and the perfect black color! It is worth the extra $$! Just trust me on this one!
Step 4: Mascara Application
Here’s how I apply my mascara after my primer: 1. apply a good coat to the under side (normal application side) of the lashes 2. wait about 3-5 minutes 3. apply another coat to the under side and the top of your lashes (this will help coat the entire lash for a fuller, longer effect)
PRO TIPS
- Wiggle the brush side to side slowly from the root to the tip when you are coating the underside of the lash (this will help with separation)
- If you get mascara on your lid or under eye… let it completely dry, get a DRY q-tip, and wipe it away! Most times if it is dry, it will fall off easily!
